Xbox 360 sees price drop in CanadaDVDBack23 @ Feb 21, 2008 21:17 | 15 comments Microsoft Canada has announced price drops across the line for all of its Xbox 360 models and it seems Canadian buyers will finally see prices more equivalent to their southern neighbors in the US.
The Xbox 360 Pro pack will drop to $349 CAD and the Elite Pack will drop to $449 CAD. The base-level Arcade model will see the smallest cut, from $299 CAD to $279 CAD.
Its US counterparts reached their current pricing model in late August 2007, and so far Canadian gamers have been forced to pay a large premium for the consoles, higher than even the discrepancy in the US and Canadian dollar which is now less than a couple cents per dollar.

Comment by: windsong (Feb 21, 2008 22:00) No thanks. I'd rather just shell out 500 for a major pc upgrade rather than 400 for an Xbox where you have to wait eons for Microshaft to send you a return box to ship your broken one in..

Comment by: mattkind (Feb 21, 2008 22:07) I think and probably this will happen , as a game console , xbox is great never got any problems but dont forget that 300,000 HD DVD add on were purchased. Now in my case, i have to buy a blu-ray player and the cheapest is the PS3. Whats gonna happen is that people will start to buy games for the ps3. Im not sure if you get me point. |
Comment by: lecsiy (Feb 21, 2008 22:10) No yer definatly the bluray winning will increase sales. And could damage the 360s lead if ms arent carefull. Hopefully theyl bring out a bluray add on. :-)

Comment by: MrXenu (Feb 21, 2008 23:12) Yeah ps3 will probably sell more now, but not for gaming, 360 as leading the most games sold and most games sold per consol out of the 3, dunno the exact stats though, but i can reckon ps3's stats are very low and so are wii's because there are onyl 5 decent games for wii, but adults seem to be buyign the wii and just playign with wii sports, a game that comes free! |

Most of us are waiting on the games like Haze, GT5, R6V2, GTA4, MGS4 and even Lost Planet. Games aren't flying for any consoles at the time being anyways... Everyone is beng retarded in not spreading out the dates and releasing even most of the bigger games I've mentioned alone in March and April so they can make less money? But whatever. I've been saving, recently purchased Rock Band and still have enough for another 3-4 games.

Comment by: sukhvail (Feb 22, 2008 22:45) This price cut is nothing too special as i got a 360 plus NHL 2K8 and Forza 2 for 350 CDN back in september. This just means that every other week, the price will be the same. |
Comment by: Paladore (Feb 23, 2008 04:13) well best buy and futureshop today reduced the price by 50 bucks and the pro comes with free bioshock and the elite comes with free turok.. nice to see this. as i bought my xbox last week and futureshop gave me $50 back and a free turock... |
Comment by: vinny13 (Feb 23, 2008 04:30) The Elite is rather useless unless you plan to spend tons of money on M$ points and download a crap load of movies and games :S
