Play.com and WH Smith have followed the move made by Aria and have dropped the price of the 60GB version of the PS3 console to £399. Play.com will even throw in an HDMI cable and a copy of the Adam Sandler movie Click on Blu-ray. WH Smith's offer is limited, extending to just April 19 but Play.com has set no limit for now.
Play.com also currently sells the Xbox 360 Core for just £149.99, an offer that is set to expire on April 10th.

Comment by: NexGen76 (Apr 07, 2007 09:56) I wonder how much pressure this going to put on Sony to drop the price on the PS3 I'm willing to bet we will see a price drop from them this coming holiday season. |
Comment by: OFI (Apr 14, 2007 15:12) I saw the PS3 in a Sony window for £399.99 today, 2 doors down from Woolworths selling it for £425 :-/ I can't imagine the PS3 being above £350 for much longer. I would think most people who don't have one already can't justify the cost so to increase sales the price needs to head more towards the 360 price although it will never drop as far as £150 :)
