250GB Slim PS3 coming soon?DVDBack23 @ Aug 20, 2009 03:42 | 32 comments
The Slim will feature a 32 percent smaller and 36 percent lighter form factor and will also consume 34 percent less power. Notably, the Slim removes the otherOS ability (addition of Linux on partition) but adds Bravia Sync so users can control the PS3 via their Sony HDTV.
Today, PS3NEWS is reporting that a CECH-2000B Slim model has been filed with the FCC featuring a 250GB hard drive.
The article says the documents were filed by Sand Dollar Enterprise a company "represented by SCEA's General Council, Riley Russell."
It is all speculation as to when the new model will hit stores, but expect it to cost $350-400 USD when it does. |

Already have a working kernel so it shouldn't be that hard. ![]() Free open source software = made by end users who want an application to work. Comment by: Gnawnivek (Aug 20, 2009 15:46) Quote:Quote: How's that crap? I like products that can be linked together, it's a PRO, not a CON... To be able to use the PSP with the PS3, it's a plus (not that it's useful, but it's a plus). So, allowing a TV to control the PS3 (i don't know how that works or is it useful or not) is not all that bad. Think about it, if you can make the TV and PS3 power up at the same time, that's pretty awesome. I have a Sony HD camcorder and it works wonderfully well with the PS3, i don't even have to burn discs anymore...

I guess they can charge more for a part that dose not cost that much and its pure profit on that unit but..... wouldn't it be better to focus on one unit line? Comment by: Oner (Aug 20, 2009 19:21) You can't please everyone...they want a lower price, they get it and complain about not enough choices...they say it has too many features, they get them removed and they continue to complain more...they don't think BC is needed...only to complain later that it's wanted...oh well like I said ~ Those who complain have only themselves to blame. ![]() Search > http://forums.afterdawn.com/search Rules > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487 Important Rule > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/380660 |

Comment by: Oner (Aug 20, 2009 20:24) LoL Zip ;) ~ But actually that is basically what they are doing since as of right now the only available PS3 will be the 120gb Slim, especially since they are not producing anymore of the old stock 80/160's and they will be sold out pretty soon... ![]() Search > http://forums.afterdawn.com/search Rules > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487 Important Rule > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/380660 |

Comment by: glassd (Aug 20, 2009 20:28) I'm sure that the 120gig and the 250gig are made on the same assembly line. No added cost production wise. The two units will be the same PS3 other than HD size. If my current 60gig ever breaks, i will be getting the 250gig. The extra $100 will be worth it to me as i am too lazy to put in a larger HD myself.

We shall see since all the info says is a 250gb has been submitted to the FCC and that's it but the 120gb is what is/will be available and is tangible in the "now". ![]() Search > http://forums.afterdawn.com/search Rules > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487 Important Rule > http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/380660 |

In reality she is playing AC1 on a PS2. |

Comment by: milkyoreo (Aug 21, 2009 03:12) I think we should all just take a moment to think about this. A 250GB video game console. OMG. 250GB is more than the world has ever seen for a video gaming system. This is above and beyond, folks! This here is the most advanced piece of gaming that we have ever seen! |
