Comment by: MonoSoft (Sep 25, 2008 21:01) that reasoning is completely rubbish, we're lowering the price to let more people into our Xbox 360 community basically, it's because they are threatened by Nintendo Wii's complete superiority and PS3's upandcoming sales, Microsoft may have considered the price, but it doesn't change that it's as (or more) unrealiable as an iPod... (average life around... 6-8 months?). i think development of a new console would be in Microsoft's interest, as they can easily fix everything wrong with the 360 in a few modifications.
