Championship Manager 2 (PC)

Genre: Sports | Aka: | Rating: Rating: 4.00  (1 vote)

Championship Manager 2's release is really the title in the CM series that sparked great interest from gamers and football lovers around the world. Although its predecessor, Championship Manager 1, had managed to gain a following, it was never a universal success with critics. However this was anything but the case for this CM 2. That came to no surprise to most as a game that broke new ground in football management simulations was always going to be a massive success.

This was a ground-breaking game. And, sadly (in my opinion), the last of CM-series to keep the stats and other "tweaks" in manageable level. The latter games in the series would require at least 1-2 hrs "setup time" before feeling comfortable to take one's squad for the next game.

While football management enthusiasts certainly wanted more realism in their game than what CM2 had, it still ranks up as one of the best in the series. Already in CM3 such super-coups as buying Ivan Zamorano to 3rd division Exeter City would be rendered impossible.
