From Max Payne to Alan Wake

Siggy @ May 19, 2006 04:19

Remedy Entertainment, the developer of popular shooter, Max Payne, is developing a psychological thriller. The game will be published by Microsoft Game Studios, which will make Remedy, based in Espoo, the first Finnish game studio to develop a game for Microsoft. The game will be released on the Xbox 360 and Windows Vista and won't reach any of the competitors' consoles.

Remedy did have numerous other publishing candidates for the upcoming game. Business Director, Matias Myllyrinne, doesn't comment on whether Remedy will use Microsoft as a publisher for other future game projects. The company employs around 30 people in developement of Alan Wake, from which the core developers are the same as in Max Payne.

In the game player takes the role of Alan Wake, escaping the tragedy of the disappearance of his fiancée to a small town of Bright Falls. The game features multilayered characters, plot full of twists and turns, dark nightmarish world and plenty of problem solving in a hyper-realistic world that can be freely explored.
