Amazon slashes 160GB PS3 price

DVDBack23 @ Aug 05, 2009 05:46 | 2 comments

The popular e-tailer Amazon has slashed the price of the Uncharted 160GB Sony PlayStation 3 model, offering the system for $449 USD to American customers.

The bundle includes the game "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" as well as a ticket to download "PAIN". The move is just another push in the direction of an upcoming PS3 price cut, expected at Gamescom on August 18th.

Reports have claimed that PS3 manufacturing costs have dropped 70 percent since launch in 2006, meaning the 80GB costs a bit over $260 to manufacture.

$449

is that cheaper? what is the usual price of a PS3 as Drake's Fortune is an in house game and could be given away completely free.
