PlayStation 3 hits sales milestone in UKDVDBack23 @ Mar 06, 2009 20:29 | 8 comments
According to an interview with GI.biz however, Sony Europe senior VP Ray Maguire admitted the company in general is facing a very tough time, namely because of the ongoing worldwide recession. Maguire was confident that they console will sell another million over the next 12 months, as people flock to entertainment systems.
"I think it's a tough time for everyone," he said. "Probably more so in the UK, because we're hit by the effects of currencies - euro, pound, yen and dollar - and the weakness of the pound is definitely an issue that affects us more than the rest of SCEE.
"We have to do as much in this office as we can to make sure that we can build on the success we had last year in terms of the units we sold, great IPs that we had to bring to market.
"This year we've got even more, even better product to put out there - but trading is difficult, it's really tough. Just credit insurance - credit limits are going to be challenging for the whole of the year.
"These are things which are completely out of Sony's control - it's about the environment in which we trade, but we have to be responsible, we have to do what we need to do to make sure we give back to the shareholders what they need." |

I was disappointed with the lack of games selection for a long time. This has the potential to be that year. With so many good exclusives finally coming to the system it is going to be hard not to buy a BluRay player. The guy at GameStop was talking to me when I picked up Killzone 2 and he was saying that the newer 80 gig was only going to cost $250 used if Sony did a $100 price cut as rumored. I know if I was to go back and buy a console and all three of the new gen consoles were sitting there all with a $250 price tag I would buy a PS3. $250 for a game console as well as a BluRay player that can be updated. |

Quote: You should definitely pick up Killzone 2, if your one of the people that heard of the suppose control deadzone and delay (Both of which were part of the game to give you the weighty feel) has been completely adjusted and now feels more responsive and more to the liking of twitchy players. |
Comment by: ooZEROoo (Mar 08, 2009 15:52) I picked up KillZone 2 at launch. The controls do suck on default, but a little time with the sensitivity and I love it now. My controls move and work just like Call of Duty now. |
