Any talk is "rumour and speculation" said a Nintendo spokesperson.
According to industry sources, the new DS would have larger screens in addition to the touch-sensitivity, but there was not much more information available.
Sales of the handheld have stalled in Japan but continue to sell well in both Europe and US.
In other news, the Sony PSP continues to sell well in Japan reaching its 10 millionith unit sold on August 24th. The handheld went on sale in the region on December 12, 2004.

Comment by: chaos_zzz (Aug 28, 2008 21:53) since two screens affect gaming (psp 1000 -> psp2000 did not affect THE playing directly), i dun think it would be a new ds, that's more like another gen don't u think? |

Comment by: locobrown (Aug 29, 2008 11:17) They are following in Sony's footsteps, changing the hardware to stop homebrew. It doesn't matter how hard they try, there is always a security flaw. The newest PSP-3000 for the moment has brought the homebrew community to a standstill, Nintendo might hope to accomplish the same.
