New Nintendo DS coming at E3?

DVDBack23 @ Apr 12, 2008 22:31 | 10 comments

Famitsu publisher Hirokazu Hamamura has today said that Nintendo is "likely to introduce a new version of its DS handheld" at the upcoming E3 event.

Without specifically mentioning sources, Hamamura cited "murmurings in the industry as well as historical evidence" as signs of an upcoming replacement. Nintendo has released a new or updated handheld every 2 years since the early 90s and the DS Lite was released in 2006.

Nintendo has not commented on the story, and "has nothing to say at this time," according to a spokesperson.

There have been few details about a new replacement but many have speculated that a new upgrade would add "media functions, such as dedicated audio and video playback as well as an additional slot for removable storage."

Time to trade up! Removable storage would be awesome. Maybe it will have similar features as that thing that was similar to an R4, the name of it escapes me right now.

Nintendo is not the only company that does it, but all company that does it too
for example look how many different version of Apple ipod are their?
Microsoft with their stupid Vista upgrade, home, ultimate, business, etc.
it all about Marketing
who could make more profit or sell

I think its fair. If someone wants to pay more money to buy a redesigned system even though they already have the original system, why not milk them? They are like a cow thats so full the milk is actually pouring out of their sacs and they're even to the point where they vomit milk, cry milk, piss milk, etc. Why not milk em? At least it won't go to waste ;)

Do I see GBA, GBA SP and GBA Micro all over again? Maybe something incredibly small that doesn't play GBA Games? If that's the case, those people will miss out on GH Aerosmith.

I have a strong feeling that this will be a completly different handheld from the ds. I really hope you can play songs, movies, pictures on it. And pray to god it had a HDD or a SD slot.

you can do that in the DS already...... video play back is a tad weak but MP3 is flawless.... why did Nintendo block the feature the first time around?
so they could make money the second time around:P
