Nintendo America boss offers "Wii rain check"

DVDBack23 @ Dec 14, 2007 23:24 | 6 comments

For those who are interested, large retailers Best Buy, Circuit City, Kmart, Sears, Target, Toys “R” Us and Wal-Mart each say they will have dozens of Nintendo Wii consoles available in the upcoming weeks.

If you cannot get one of those consoles, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has said gaming retailer Gamestop will be offering a "Wii rain check", where on December 21st buyers can pre-order the console and expect it by the end of January. You will have to leave the full price for the deposit however.

Nintendo currently produces 1.8 million units per month, with over half of those units being sold to American consumers.

"Merry Christmas here's your rain check". That would really suck, nothing can compare to getting a new console ON Christmas day and being able to play it ON Christmas break. I remember when I got my Nintendo, Sega, and n64. I had time to veg out over the vacation break instead of getting it on Jan 1st when school started again.

I mean seriously wtf Nintendo how strained are your production facility’s? Millions of little kiddies still want your console and you didn't even prepare for the holiday season?

I still do not understand why these console manufactures don't just sell the dang consoles directly from their website.

They would have to produce more consoles than just that to apply with the demand that they are getting.

So their only problems with selling them ... is making them.

WOW, sucks to be nintendo.
