PS3 closing the gap on the Wii in JapanDVDBack23 @ Nov 03, 2007 20:04 | 38 comments
110,415 Wii units were sold in October in Japan compared to 47,183 PS3 units.
The higher PS3 sales can mostly be attributed to a stronger lineup of games as well as recent price cuts of the console. The narrowing sales lead must be a welcome sign for Sony's game business, which just posted an operating loss of 96.7 billion yen ($841.8 million USD) for the period of July-September.

Comment by: ChiknLitl (Nov 04, 2007 16:27) The "gap" is narrowing. Instead of selling 500% more consoles, the Wii is "only" selling 100% more console than the PS3 in Japan. What else are they going to buy, an Xbox 360?! |

Comment by: jetyi83 (Nov 05, 2007 07:09) how is it pointless.. and what the hell do you see that makes it childish? childish is such a completely wrong word to use.

Comment by: Bladerz05 (Nov 05, 2007 16:22) Originally posted by jetyi83: whether it is a statistical fact or not it is irrelevant in this area. this area is for discussing the closing gap as proven 100% accurate by the moving from a 6:1 ratio to a 2:1 between the wii and the ps3. This is not for the general sale of more game console units.

Comment by: emugamer (Nov 06, 2007 17:12) The PS3 will come out better games and the Wii will start to lose it's appeal. It will eventually go from 2:1 to 1:1 to 1:2, etc....May be a couple of years before the Wii bubble bursts though. It's a nice system that will keep people occupied until the PS3 really starts to beat its chest and sound out the war cry. |

Comment by: xhardc0re (Nov 07, 2007 06:46) a pleasant reminder to those of you who have their heads stuck up their arse. It doesn't matter which system is better, nor how many polygons per second it can display.
