surprise surprise, but to give sony and microsoft some credit, they are lowing the prices pretty good on their systems. thinking about a ps3 now maybe next year when its 350 bucks :)

Kudos to Nintendo. Can't say I'm looking to buy a PS3 until:

1) Blu-Ray becomes the clear standard (ie. wins HD format war)
2) PlayStation 3 has great games that you cannot get on another console
3) PlayStation 3 games look as good or better than 360 games (ie. no crappy ports)

And finally, sticking with my "Sony hates piracy" but "piracy sells consoles" theory:

4) Blu-Ray burners and media are as prevalent and cost effective as DVD media
5) The PS3 is hacked and capable of playing homebrew and backups

My tv cabinet already too full with my 360 and Wii.... wont be getting a ps3 myself, besides, Im in the midst of a Sony boycott until they stop their DRM/rootkit/legal_bully_tactics/punishing_customer company policies!! :)

Been sony free for a year now... loving it!! :)

Anyways, I too am waiting for Blu-Ray to(hopefully) prevail and for a FW hack to come. But on the upside, by that time, alll of the 60GB consoles will have hopefully sold out around the world and the 80GB will get a price cut to $499.99 :)

But I want homebrew!!!!! Hopefully the PS scene will develop some quality homebrew for the PS3. At least better than the PS2 homebrew. XBOX 1 homebrew was/is "premium." :-P

There'll be one sooner or later... And when there is, I hope it's as strong as the PSP... And by strong I mean the community. Even when Dax left, Team M33 picked up right where he left off. It isn't the same without him, but they're definatly doing everyone a favour.

Maybe they can hack the PS3?

i dunno about M33. i heard their FW hacks aren't as good as OE-A. im gonna hold out as long as possible till i find a really good stable FW to update for the new october games. so far 3.40 OE-A has been really good to me.

That's the pain in the back side, it is more than just a GC with a fancy controller.... but it just looks the same because the ports that come to the Wii are the last-generation versions of games, because it's cheaper than bringing the next-gen graphics etc down to the wii's level. End result - graphics on games like Spiderman 3/Transformers look the same as the ps2/xbox1 versions. Spiderman is probably the best example of this - I have never seen such a terrible port in all my life... and I absolutely love the 360 version.

Luckily, I use the Wii for party and nintendo-only games like Zelda and my 360 for man's stuff like Gears of War, Call of Duty and Spiderman 3 (is that a mans game?? lol)

PS - The WiiKey also sweetens the deal with the Wii... it means I can "try before I buy", so if there are crappy ports - at least I didn't spend any cash on it!

That's because it's similar to programming an app in Windows. Sony still has a nightmare of a dev kit, this generation or the last.

this was bound to happen it is cheaper, credit to M$ as they do have the core out which is ment to rival the wii, obviosuly it doesn't but its nice to see them makign an effort to try and reach consumers that can't afford the premium version Unlike sony who stopped there 'cheaper' version which was actually like £20 cheapers or soemthign and still more expensive then the 360 my a tonne. the wii i would say is more of a party toy, the 360 is soemthing u can actually play when ur one ur own, not rele for whne u ahve friends round, because onlien with split screen is such a disadvantage. The wii is basically designed for multiplayer.

The ps3 has lost this with the announcement that it is supporting 360 ow, its only a matter of time until they announce ff13 for 360, then its only MGS4 that it has, when that goes its all over, because the 360 actually has good exclusive games, what does the ps3 have? LAIR dam just look at the review on gamespot for that! Its basically all the sony fb buying ps3's! Everythign is designed for 360 and then ported to ps3, because its soo mcuh easier developing for M$ the it is for sony, and M$ put a lot of effort to help company's.

For hakcing a ps3, they are literrally years off for a stable hack, you can blame the BR discs for this, as they have a tarded thign taht makes it very hard to pirate and make the ps3 then play them, also because of the stupid 8 cell processor, makes it even more stupid. No sony had to go for 8 cells, then just using normal processors.

I myself identify as a PS3 fanboy, and i am sure that after this post i will get flack. o well.

Its great that the wii is still market leader. It proved that innovated controls and cost oriented units can sell, and sell well. Unfortunately the games are either terrible or look like death warmed over. At my apartment we have a 360, a PS3 and a wii. 90% of the gaming time happens on the 360, because they have stellar games and they look fantastic. I personnaly feel that the PS3 will have a good shot at more of the market share come christmas, if the developers use some of the system resources to make the games look good instead of porting a title just to make a quick buck.

so wii, enjoy your time in the sun, but eventually u will be like the virtua-boy. a novelty that stops being fun after a few min.

Up until that last line, your post made sense. To compare the Wii to the Virtual Boy is just wrong. I must say, for every point made about cost, graphics, etc. with the Wii, the same was said about the DS and guess which 2 are the king of the mountain?

I do agree that I play my 360 alot, but that's because of the shotty release schedule for the Wii. I'm not really into playing half the crap that came out this past Summer. Better games are coming for each system, but I think that Sony has the least exclusives in the "killer app" department at this time.

why is the wii doing well? its simple, because the games are fun. most hardcore gamers own a good pc and a console looks poor by comparison.

the problem with sony and m$ is that they think graphics are everything, but in reality all it does is make production times longer and the development cost more, limiting studios that can make content and, isolating their hardware to just a few companies.

I just wanna say congrats to nintendo. I remember when it 1st came out. The old NES. They took Atari out, with the help of PS took Sega (although make some good games) and dreamcast out. Nintendo is tried and true, I'm glad to see their getting the credit they deserve. To all you nintendo haters... remember nintendo and atari paved the way, and watch it won't be long until microsoft and sony come out with motion senser controllers. Next consol of course.
And before you jump on my back, no I don't own a wii, I have a 360 because I like their games better, but I have much respect for nintendo

i think that wii is cool but there is something missing from it i cant put my finger on it right now.but playing it makes me feel silly as hell swinging that damn controller around like a ninja.but still i think its very fun though but i prefer Gow and Bioshock any day of the week.when the family comes over i break out the wii and when my buds come over its 360 or ps3 all the way.and by the way iam 34 years old and my mom loves the wii so that say something about the little white box we all know as the wii.one more thing if any of you guys got kids the wii is great for funtime of course if homework and chores are done.

well all im seeing is that ps3 is closing up to the 360 very quick knowing that 360 been out longer.. eventually i think the wii and ps3 will be on top due to wii screwed up controller and ps3 blueray and all stuff they are adding up liek the DVR feature. to be honest i can;t stand the wii. i think is crap and I didn;t buy my HD tv to be playing old school graphics.. anyhow oviously its workign out for them mainly because 360 and ps3 forgot to focus on the kids which eventually lead the market.. they are the ones to convince their parents to buy it for them, and believe me a gaming console WILL calm down your kids. it is just a fact so every parent will eventually get one for them to have a break every once in a while. but really you will never get a sweet experience on first person shooters or sports games on the wii console, it will be fun playign with the romete the first few times but it gets booring, it is just too repetitive.. talking about good games, NHL 08 is the best game of hockey i ever played in my life, and im not sure if they will be able to match up the same work on the wii, i checked out fifa 08 on wii and it looks brutal. well those are my thoughs, if you don;t agree... well thats your own opinion.
