Slimmer and lighter PSP bundle hits storesDVDBack23 @ Sep 05, 2007 18:49 | 19 comments
However, Sony did say that only one of the three new PSP bundles would be available, the limited-edition Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack with a $199.99 USD pricetag.
Included in the package are the new "ice silver" colored Slim PSP, the game "Daxter", "Family Guy – The Freakin' Sweet Collection" on UMD and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo.
"PSP sales have soared since we introduced the $169.99 price point in April, and that momentum will only continue with the launch of the newly designed PSP, which has generated strong interest among consumers since we announced it at E3," said Jack Tretton, president and CEO, SCEA. "With our growing software library, which includes more than 140 new releases in the pipeline this fiscal year, the PSP platform is poised for significant growth. The Daxter Entertainment Pack offers a great opportunity for consumers to jump in to PlayStation Portable experience with content that demonstrates the multi-functionality of the system, all for a great value."
Alongside the launch are a few accessories for the new, updated design, most notably component or composite video out cables to output video from the PSP to any TV.
The two other PSP bundles set for release soon are the "PSP Core Pack", with black slim PSP, AC adapter and battery pack for $169.99 USD and the limited edition "Star Wars PSP Entertainment Pack" which will include the "ceramic white" PSP with a "silk-screened image of Darth Vader on the back of the unit" as well as the game, "Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron". It will be priced the same as the currently available Daxter pack.

Comment by: 713tex (Sep 05, 2007 19:38) I just came from Best Buy and they told me that they were only taking pre-orders. What's up with that? |
Comment by: Moomoo2 (Sep 05, 2007 19:39) So is it hackable or what? I've heard rumors that Pandora's Battery doesn't work on it, but how do these people know if the slim PSP isn't even released yet?

Comment by: faqman98 (Sep 05, 2007 21:36) pandora's battery doesn't work on the slims due to different file locations in the flash or something |
Comment by: ooZEROoo (Sep 05, 2007 22:02) In my opinion the only reason that this was developed was to take back control of the psp. It is the same as the slim ps2. The slims are made to try and destroy homebrew. |

Comment by: spydah (Sep 05, 2007 22:38) No hardware or software is unhackable. Its to many people in this world with talent to say something like that. If nobody knew how to code or get into hardware to mod and so forth then I would agree. They can make as bold of a statement as possible because were theres a will theres a way. |

Comment by: ST2006 (Sep 07, 2007 18:13) Apparently Datel say their new 'tool battery' (the very questionable Pandora-like battery) works with the slim, though I haven;t heard any confirmations about it... also people asking where other people are getting their slim from, probably ebay.. a lot of sellers seem to have them already and available for shipping as soon as payment cleared.. Comment by: ST2006 (Sep 08, 2007 11:44) all these ppl who dont like m33 cfw are iratating me.. look m33 is better ok because of many reasons, also wildcard firwmare will soon become better aswell.. i respect DAX so much, but its time to move ON.. and yes OE did have a no-umd option but.. it sucked and didn't work.. M33 now has 3 options for No-UMD, making it better than OE, this, and a few other features.. is what makes m33.. m33!! SmokeThis2006
