In Wildlife Tycoon the player controls the whole ecosystem of African Serengeti. The nature is in control in many other means, as you can buy, breed and feed the species the way they should be to get to the ultimate goal - the perfect balance, or rather a less dramatic goal, set by different missions.
The game offers challenges with different kind of level requirements. To pass the level, you will have to create an ecosystem that the current level requires, which might be to get 20 individuals of certain species. There is a in-game "Be the Animal"-mode in which you can choose an animal to life it's life as a prey or a predator.
The game includes a story mode and a challenge mode, featuring 11 animals, 25 campaign maps and 3 difficulty levels.
