Nintendo confirms it will have first yearly loss, everDVDBack23 @ Oct 27, 2011 20:14 | 6 comments
Because the yen continues to strengthen against the USD and the euro, Nintendo has been forced to reduce its earnings.
Additionally, the failed 3DS handheld has caused losses as Nintendo was forced to slash the price of the device just months after launch.
Nintendo will see a loss of 20 billion yen ($258 million) for the quarter. Last year the company had a 30 billion yen gain.
Finally, Nintendo chopped its forecast for 3DS sales down 30 percent to 50 million in its first year of availability. |

Comment by: Notcow (Oct 28, 2011 19:42) I wish Nintendo would get on its feet again...I would love to see a next-gen graphics console from Nintendo, and it's not looking like that's gonna happen with this "WiiU". They need to take a hint and start investing in graphics and innovative, non-gimmicky game-play...would be a shame to see a great historic company like Nintendo fail in the face of Sony and Microsoft just due to lack of vision.
