Play PS3 games on your iOS device, using everyAirDVDBack23 @ Feb 25, 2011 05:17 | 13 comments
The group says the configuration will allow for PS3 gaming on all iOS devices, including the iPad.
For those with PSP handhelds, EveryAir is similar to Remote Play.
Here is the Q&A posted by the group:
Q: What’s the overall picture for how this works?
And some video:

After reading the article, oyi, it's basically using the iPad as the monitor... It's stupid really, WHY?!?! If the iPad has a mini HDMI or regular HDMI port, this whole thing can be avoided, duh. |

Comment by: stuntman_ (Feb 25, 2011 16:18) wouldn't it be cool if you could play your PS3 games on an IOS device from anywhere though?

Comment by: Gnawnivek (Feb 25, 2011 16:45) Originally posted by stuntman_: Yeah, provided that the PS3 has to be on all the time... I was thinking about the games purchased from PSN. If the iPad can link to those games without the PS3 being powered on, that would be cool. Otherwise, I don't see the point, it's not like people got nothing else to do with the iPad.
Peace!

Comment by: stuntman_ (Feb 25, 2011 17:31) Well of course the PS3 would have to be on, but I imagine they could find a way to wirelessly turn it on from the ipad. AS long as you don't flip the switch off on the back of the PS3 I think it could be done

Comment by: IguanaC64 (Feb 25, 2011 21:19) ...and then Apple will shut it down. They've already established they won't allow anything in the Apple store that plays code not approved by Apple (ie, Flash, the C64 emulator, etc) |

Peace!

Originally posted by Gnawnivek: You could use the interface they mentioned in the video where it uses gestures or virtual controls, or even a third party usb attachment for the ps3 controller or hack the bluetooth (does the ipad have this??).

Comment by: wmccusker (Feb 28, 2011 21:24) Why can't a remote play app be reverse engineered from the psp OS? I mean if homebrew can be hacked onto the psp then cant it be hacked from it??

Originally posted by wmccusker: Cool is one thing, but having fun is another... You might attract some people with the fancy iPad PS3 setup, but when you try to execute the actual control, it will suck. Remote play on the PSP sucks and that thing has one analog stick. Virtual control? It's going to suck...

I'm just saying, when you get it all done, down to the final fine point, all you going to get is just anther short "wow" and that's it... Try to play on the iPad for 10 minutes and see if the interest is still up. Within that 10 minutes, I guarantee you something will be broken, let it be lagging control or stuttering video streaming or rusty music. Simply put, it can be demoed for cool factor, but it can't be trusted for few hours of gaming..
Peace!
