'Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood' game-breaking glitch has still not been fixedDVDBack23 @ Dec 13, 2010 00:30 | 27 comments
For current players of the title who might be worried they will encounter the same glitch, angry gamers are reporting that the glitch happens when you leave "the Animus as Desmond Miles and explore Monteriggioni in the game’s year 2012. It appears that after a player does this he or she is then unable to have his or her character return to the Animus, which essentially traps them in the game’s year 2012 and stops all further player progress," says GR.
For some gamers, they managed to avoid the glitch by not saving the game, at all, while in the year 2012. A few others turned on the subtitles and averted breaking their game. For some gamers, neither "fix" worked.
Ubisoft, the company behind the blockbuster game has yet to comment, living up to their growing reputation in the gaming community of being "anti-consumer."
As of writing, Ubisoft has not provided a timetable, but it is clear that a patch will be needed.
You can read the Ubi forums here (a lot of the posts have been removed due to profanity from frustrated owners): Brotherhood Forum thread |

Comment by: Zealousi (Dec 13, 2010 05:38) hey how often does this developer make a serious edited by ddp up, now to mention it how often does a next gen game edited by ddp up this bad. Yes they made a big mistake but let them fix it and don't give them edited by ddp, If you revise yourself that these things happen just as much as computers are faulty at times too. Show more respect to the Developers who provide our entertainment!!!

If they had put three testers on the game, at least two would have had this problem, they would have seen how bad the problem is, and they would have fixed it. They didn't. Now, it is almost a month after release, and a massive, game-killing bug that was discovered on launch day has yet to be fixed, and Ubisoft has not even admitted there is a problem...nor have they said that there will be a patch any time soon. Of course, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt; it is more likely that they knew about the problem, and released anyway...because they only care about short-term profits; not about making a good game or keeping customers happy.

Comment by: GryphB (Dec 13, 2010 15:37) Perhaps people should just stop buying games made or published by Ubisoft and see how the company likes that response. |

Comment by: keola37 (Dec 14, 2010 02:46) This seems to be the trend with ALL games makers, put out an untested game and let the dupes that spent $60 on it figure out the glitches, then release patches. They do this for obvious reasons, it's WAY cheaper and because we all keep buying them anyways. The ONLY way to stop this is to not buy the game or to have far more class-action lawsuits against them. If the game makers start to lose money because of the way they do things, then, and only then will they change.

Comment by: mystic (Dec 14, 2010 02:52) ok the first game was ok but the online checks suck all the life out of the game if your not on line dont launch it or it will crash now the second game same as the first yes I waited and bought it for the pc even thinking if they fixed it they would update the game easier on a pc then having to port it to a consoul sad they havent and to make it worse they really ment to tell the people who get stuck in 2012 the world has ended and so has your game... good day..

Comment by: bassius (Dec 16, 2010 03:09) No, it is not just the PC version, I have encountered this on 360 and the Ubisoft forums indicate that it occurs on the PS3 too. This is by far the mot fustrating thing that has happened to me in 20 years of gaming |

Comment by: Anonymous User (Feb 16, 2011 14:35) I've played the mission where you leave the animus in 2012, and after I beat the mission, it let me go back to Ezio's memories. So my advice to players who have not left the animus in the year 2012, is just to play the missions, DO NOT LEAVE THE ANIMUS IN THE YEAR 2012, and if you do leave the animus, make sure it isn't 2012. Because after you beat the game you can't leave the animus anyways. |

'Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood’ gamers have vented their frustrations this week over a glitch that literally breaks the game, leaving users stuck in the year 2012 and halting all forward progress in the game.
