DVDBack23 @ Oct 22, 2010 03:21 | 9 comments

Nintendo has confirmed today they will be releasing red Wii and DSi XL consoles, in an effort to continue their ongoing celebration of Super Mario's 25th anniversary.

For $199, the red Wii bundle will include the console, a Wii Remote Plus (with Motion Plus), nunchuck, Wii Sports and New Super Mario Bros.

The DSi XL bundle will sell for $179 and include the red handheld, Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math, Photo Clock, and Mario Kart DS.

Nintendo had made the colorway available in Japan previously.

Both bundles will be available on November 7th in limited supply and are available for pre-order now.

Wii has let the bowlers down and featured Mario Bros. When I purchaced everything that wii had to offer, I found WII bowling was realistic and let me stay in the game when I could do not bowl do to a bad left knee. I would love to have some competition but WII has seen to it that they would not try to make this bowling popular. It is a shame.

Is it just me, or is it closer to pink than red?

Yea it would have been great if a company like EA or 2k could have made a kickass bowling game.

The price isn't great, but its not bad either; Nintendo's still milk's prices on their old title software as if its the next best thing even being 4 years old. I still see copies of Twilight Princess selling for $50-60 even at stores like Wal-Mart. So knowing that, the system itself has added value, but after that, then what? As far as I last heard the latest firmware can't be hacked and the damn software isn't worth their price on almost 70% of their lineup. Shame really, that this is their best strategy to take on Xmas.

Yup, that's why most people hack their Wiis.

Bring me back to the days where at launch a quality Mario game was included with the console.

They had that same package with a floor pad and an Olympics game on the same cart as the other two games.
