Comment by: Pop_Smith (Mar 18, 2010 18:59) That was a pretty funny advertisement, it will be interesting to see how long the whole "motion-control" actually continues.

Comment by: Anonymous User (Mar 18, 2010 20:44) I could still remember the first day that Nintendo announce their motion controller, Sony and Microsoft was making fun of how it will not work. Now years later look who is copying the trench that they once was making fun of. LOL. |
Comment by: xnonsuchx (Mar 18, 2010 20:54) LOVE "The Kevin Butler!" ;-) |

Comment by: Gneiss1 (Mar 18, 2010 21:50) Oh, I love these commercials. Companies usually mock the best, so it tells me what to buy. Nintendo's hardware quality strikes me as excellent. (I don't mind the low resolution.)

Comment by: ZippyDSM (Mar 18, 2010 22:11) Sony is the one to be mocked...I mean whats with the multi color vibrator look?
Until lobbying is a hanging offense I choose anarchy!
Ah modern gaming its like modern film only the watering down of fiction and characters is replaced with shallow and watered down mechanics, gimmicks and shiny-er "people". http://zippydsmlee.wordpress.com/ |

Comment by: SProdigy (Mar 19, 2010 02:06) You guys are right. I remember MS and Sony laughing at Nintendo, and now they are copying them! These add-on functions typically fail due to lack of support; it's been succesfful for Nintendo because it was built in with the console from the beginning, so it was always a key feature of the Wii.

It take years to perfect what Nintendo did. Anyway going back to the PS3 new motion controller, who in their right mind want to hold two color balls and swing it around like a clown. LOL> |
Comment by: Oner (Mar 20, 2010 13:43) Originally posted by ukhn99: As I said before Sony has been working on Motion Control with AND without a controller input device (BOTH Wii style & Natal style) over 10 years ago...I am not saying Sony is the inventor (that is down right retardedly stupid to believe) but I am saying they INNOVATED this successfully (with EyeToy & early dev of PS Move) on consoles LOOONG before the others.

Comment by: Oner (Mar 20, 2010 21:10) Originally posted by ZippyDSM: Yes, I agree but that is because the technology used in the PS2 version was too advanced for even it to handle which is why it was never released and pushed into the next gen (PS3 obviously). Meanwhile Ninty came out with a gimped accuracy version controller combined with it being the cheapest/least costing console and thus it's popularity is more attributed to price & feature more so than just the feature. All this to then charge later for the Wii Motion Plus (and even then it's still iffy) to help re-compete. It's actually very Soap Operatic!

Comment by: pufff (Mar 24, 2010 01:09) The controller looks like a lolly pop or something my girlfriend would get excited about! At least they didn't just stick a coloured ball on the current controller and call it new.
