NES with 'Stadium Events' sells for $13,000DVDBack23 @ Feb 15, 2010 01:44 | 15 comments
The system came included with one of the top three rarest Nintendo classic games in existence, Stadium Events, which was released in 1987 by Bandai. There are said to be only 10 copies of the game left in the world.
Besides Stadium Events, the console came included with copies of a few other games, but the system wouldn't have likely topped $100, even with the other games.

Comment by: EricCarr (Feb 15, 2010 02:10) I didn't have this game, but there were lots of others I had. It makes me wonder if I sold anything for .50 Cents that is worth a fortune. |
Comment by: munchiz (Feb 15, 2010 03:39) im wondering how much a working xbox 360 with no rrod or anything be worth in 30years ... |
Comment by: DVDBack23 (Feb 15, 2010 03:50) Originally posted by munchiz: $40 + games lol, for the nostalgia factor. |
Comment by: Pop_Smith (Feb 15, 2010 05:33) The seller must not have been aware of the "value" of Stadium Events as they didn't even have it listed in a subtitle.
Originally posted by munchiz: The only reason the Stadium Events game is worth anything is because it is extremely rare, as there are supposed just 10 copies left in the world. |

Comment by: Joshewah (Feb 15, 2010 08:53) It would be pretty sick if the Angry Video Game Nerd was the buyer. He only needs a few more games to complete is collection. |
Comment by: ChiknLitl (Feb 15, 2010 15:49) The game also came with the original box, likely even more valuable than the game itself. ---Chikn |

Comment by: pez2244 (Feb 17, 2010 21:55) But supposedly there were only 200 NTSC copies ever distributed....there are way more PAL copies. People on ebay are getting totally ripped! I checked out the one you have and it's an NTSC copy that hasn't been opened. I'll have to keep an eye on this one...curious to see what it goes for... |
Comment by: KillerBug (Feb 18, 2010 08:51) WOW! I'm gonna have to go through my collection of old games...I seem to remember having a big collection of olympics-type games for my old NES...I even have the boxes for most of them! I might even have that stupid running pad thing somewhere around here (The wII isn't the first nintendo that makes you look like an idiot when you are playing sports games)

Comment by: Pop_Smith (Feb 24, 2010 03:17) Originally posted by chrialex: With three days left! Anyone want to guess what it's closing price is going to be? I'm guessing close to, if not over, $50,000. |
Comment by: pez2244 (Feb 24, 2010 14:07) I've been following a thread on nintendoage.com and at $22,300 it's already broken the record for highest selling price of any video game! CRAZY! I'm going to watch the auction before it closes on Friday. Maybe I'll place my bid....haha yeah right! Who has that kind of money to spend on a game anyway??$#)($)#( |
