DVDBack23 @ Oct 18, 2009 19:32 | 11 comments

Last month, Infinity Ward, the developer behind the much anticipated Modern Warfare 2, confirmed that Microsoft was planning a 250GB Xbox 360 Elite that will bundle the game along with a custom colorway.

Today, Amazon has revealed the release date for the bundle, as well as full details on its availability.

The Elite model will come with a 250GB HDD, the game Modern Warfare 2 and two black wireless controllers for $400 USD.

The bundle will be available starting on November 10th, with quantities limited.

I certainly hope Microsoft has finally fixed the infamous RRoD that has plagued the XBOX360.

I certainly don't wanna put down $400.00 (not including Sales Tax and/or Shipping) just to have the thing break.

They should have gone for the jugular and priced it closer to the 250GB PS3 that's coming out.

Not a fanboy but if you think about it, it's a really good deal. The Elite is $300 with 1 controller and I believe 1 headset and 120GB HD. This for $100 more throws in a $40 wireless controller, $60 game, and 110GB More hard drive space.

I agree that the failure rate on these consoles are ridiculous but you could either:
-Void warranty and X Clamp as soon as you get it
-Use the warranty whenever it breaks and get a free 1 month live with it
-Don't play for more than 4 hours at a time. I fix these systems and I tell my customers that if they ever hear the fan hit high speed, its time to turn it off.

They could have but they would probably be losing money. For $50 more you're getting an extra controller and MW2 game.

Well microsft is offering their 3 year warranty against the rrod with all new consoles so for 3 years you are set. And on another note all of the statistics of the new chipset with these show an equal failure rate to the PS3.

I beg to differ. I fix 360s and I've received so many of the new chips for RROD. Compare the PS3 slim to the Xbox 360, the PS3 slim has a lower failure rate any day.

That 360 looks pretty cool. That said I'd never put that much money down for another system all over again. I'll stick with my HDMI core 360 with a 20GB hdd for the time being. And when since Sony is able to out price the 360 where you get better bang for your buck? Get it together Microsoft!

i wish theyd fix, not only the RRoD, but for those who also have the no video with sound issue !

I think the RROD is an awesome problem, and I hope 360s keep breaking. My friend's 360 just broke, warranty is out, I bought it off of him for $5 and now I have two working 360s (yay x-clamp fix). If the RRODs continue, I'll have a whole stack of 360s ;)

One thing I've realized though... If the x-clamps fix is simple enough, why doesn't Microsoft do it? Why do they still use x-clamps? And same with something like the penny mod on the ram chips, for those who have had that issue? Simple fixes, none have been factory implemented...
