Nintendo outlines video services for Wii, DSDVDBack23 @ Apr 11, 2009 01:50 | 4 comments
The Wii would be used as a download hub, with the video content easily being made portable through the DS or DSi handhelds.
"If the Wii and the DS are connected, it should be possible to download video through the Wii and take it with you on the DS," added Iwata. "When the service begins, you'll see how we're going to do it differently in a Nintendo-like way. There are a lot of on-demand video services, so there’s no reason to do the same thing, so we’re going to do something different."
Iwata did not go into when the service might begin, or any details on pricing of the content, but did note that Japanese users would receive the service first, followed by European and North American gamers.
