You, Major John "Dutch" Cane, take an elite platoon of mercenary commandos on your command and lead them to a space station invaded by mutated alien parasites or "bugs". With the most deadly experimental weaponry, these officially non-existent commandos will have to take out the enemy before its too late and the bugs get to the station's control center.
Blowout is a pick-up-and-play, run and gun -type of game with explosive side-scrolling action that uses 3D character models. The intense and dark environment puts players to the limits in 18 challenging levels with secrets and power-ups hidden behind blast-through-walls, -ceilings and -floors. The futuristic, experimental weaponry of the game includes 8-meter Flamethrower, Plasma Rifle, Machine Gun, Industrial ChainSaw, and more.
With the in-game level editor, you are able to create modify existing levels or entirely new scenarios for yourself and for distribution.
