The laptop I bought form Best Buy should run it just fine. The beauty is I had a Toshiba SLI from 2008 then in early 2011 that one crapped out and Best Buy couldn't fix it. Good thing I got the warranty because I was able to get a computer that equaled the price of what I paid in 2008 (not specs...value). That netted me a laptop with i7, 6gb of ram, and an HD5870. If I had to buy a new one I would have bought one that was more powerful but since it was a replacement I think I got a pretty damn good deal. It's not as powerful as making your own rig but since I got the insurance I can just sabotage my current laptop when the warranty is about to run out and get another new one. Not entirely honest but then again neither is Best Buy... even their name is a lie ;)

I recommend waiting for the new Intel procs coming in April under the Ivy Bridge name. 3720QM is the best bang for buck I think. Intel Mobos are the best in my opinion. 1600MHz RAM. Nothing else to research my friend.......unless this is your first time building.

No kidding, but disc drive is referring to CD-ROM which did exist at 1x.

I would hope even back then ALL CD drives were at least 1x speed... Or they would be playing music too slow anyway.
